Tour Overview
This 10-Day Uganda, Wildlife, Gorillas, and Rwenzori Hiking Safari is a combined safari for viewing wildlife by game drive, boat cruise, and hiking. The major highlights of this trip are gorilla trekking, wildlife viewing, and hiking the Rwenzori mountains. Engaging with the community during your charity activities is also a different opportunity.
Trek the famous mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and meet the gentle giants face-to-face in their natural habitats. Most travelers who have done gorilla trekking believe it is an experience of a lifetime.
You will also explore Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most diverse national park. Explore the park on a game drive and boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. On the game drive and boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, you will see the famous tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector and various wildlife species.
Explore the moon-Rwenzori mountains, which have the highest point in Uganda (Margherita Peak).
Your trip will be spiced up by the exciting adventure of whitewater rafting on the famous River Nile, the longest river in the world with impressive rapids. Visit the place where the River Nile starts its journey to the Mediterranean Sea to explore more of it.
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to your Lodge
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, meet your guide, People Link Safaris, and transfer to your lodge for overnight rest.
Night stay: Via Via Entebbe
Day 2: Community-based charity and Entebbe city tour
Morning: Engage in a community-based charity activity or project in and around the Entebbe area at Food Steps Community at Kasenyi Road. After your charity, you will go on a city tour of Entebbe.
Options will be discussed after your arrival during the briefing.
Night stay: Via Via Entebbe
Day 3: Flight to Kihihi airstrip and road transfer to Buhoma
In the morning, catch a domestic flight from Entebbe International Airport to Kihihi Airstrip. On this flight, you will enjoy the panoramic view of Uganda’s nature, which confirms Uganda as a pearl of Africa.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred from Kihihi Airstrip to your lodge in the Buhoma sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Afternoon: Visit the Batwa community to experience the culture and traditional lifestyle of the Batwa people, who were the original inhabitants of the forest.
Overnight: Buhoma Havens Lodge (Bwindi Impenetrable Forest)
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and afternoon relaxation
Early Morning: After a hearty breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting out for your gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
You will start your trek through the dense forest, guided by experienced trackers and rangers, to encounter one of the majestic gorilla families. Most travelers refer to this experience as the experience of a lifetime.
Evening: After your memorable trek, relax at your lodge, perhaps with a massage or a quiet evening enjoying the forest surroundings.
Overnight: Buhoma Havens Lodge
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha sector and boat cruise
Morning: After breakfast, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions.
Afternoon: Upon arrival in Queen Elizabeth, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where you’ll spot various wildlife, including hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species.
Overnight: Twin Lakes Safari Lodge
Day 6: Morning game Drive and Transfer to Kasese
Morning: Early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot the various mammal species and other wildlife in their natural habitat.
Afternoon: After the game drive, embark on a scenic drive to Kasese as you get ready to conquer the mountains of the moon the following day.
Evening: Arrive and relax at Hotel Margharita Kasese, where you can unwind and enjoy the local atmosphere.

Day 7: Begin Hiking Mount Rwenzori
Morning: After breakfast, prepare for your Mount Rwenzori hike. Your guide will take you to the trailhead for a full day of hiking through stunning landscapes, lush vegetation, and breathtaking views.
Evening: After hiking, check in at your camping area for rest.
Day 8: Continue Hiking Mount Rwenzori
All Day: Continue hiking Mount Rwenzori, exploring higher altitudes, and enjoying incredible views of glaciers, waterfalls, and alpine flora. Your guide will provide insight into the unique ecosystem of the Rwenzori Mountains.
Evening: Depending on your hike schedule, camp or stay in a lodge near the base.
Day 9: Descend from Mount Rwenzori and Transfer to Entebbe
Morning: After breakfast, descend from Mount Rwenzori, retracing your steps to the base.
Afternoon: Transfer from Kasese back to Entebbe. Arrive in the afternoon and proceed to Jinja. Entebbe to Jinja takes 2 hours and 30 minutes. On arrival, check-in at your lodge and relax after the journey.
Overnight: The Haven Lodge Jinja
Day 10: Whitewater rafting, The source of the Nile, and transfer to Entebbe
On this last day of your adventure, you will have breakfast and get ready for whitewater rafting. This is an exciting adventure since the River Nile offers one of the best rafting opportunities in the world. Rafting is at different levels and rapids; the choice depends on what you can manage.
You will then visit the source of the River Nile and enjoy a boat cruise to the point where it starts its journey to the Mediterranean Sea.
Then enjoy your lunch and embark on your epic journey to Entebbe International Airport for your flight home.
