Day 1: Start the Akagera Wildlife Safari
We leave for Akagera National Park in the morning after breakfast, or you are picked up from the airport. On arrival at the park, your driver will clear with the rangers at the gate and proceed to the visitor center for a briefing. Depending on your interest, you will proceed to the hotel for check-in or a game drive.
In the afternoon, take a boat trip on Lake Ihema, where you will watch out for Hippos, crocodiles, and several other animals coming to the park to water.
Day 2: Game drive – Akagera Wildlife Safari
Zebra-Akagera-national-park-safari Depending on your interest in animal viewing, you will decide how much time to spend on a game drive in the park. Arise early and leave for a game drive in Akagera National Park after breakfast. The game drive on this wildlife tour will be on our custom-made safari land cruiser, giving you a fantastic view of the wildlife.
Look out for some big mammals, such as Elephants, Giraffes, Buffaloes, Topi, Zebras, and Impala. Lions and Rhinos are often challenging to spot, but it could be your lucky day. The park is a varied habitat for wildlife and a birder’s haven, with over 500 species. The game drive will last about 6 hours or more, depending on your interests.
Day 3: Adventure and road return to Kigali
After a leisurely breakfast, savoring each bite and soaking in the tranquil morning atmosphere, you will embark on your journey back to Kigali. However, before you leave, you have the delightful opportunity to traverse the park one last time for an exhilarating game drive. If you wish to take your time, you can opt for a later checkout, allowing you to immerse yourself in the beauty of the wildlife and the stunning landscapes before heading directly to Kigali.
