This 3 Days Gorilla and Golden Monkey trekking Safari in Rwanda focus on primates in the Volcanoes National Park. The trip takes you to the famous Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre to learn more about the 1994 Rwanda genocide and then to Volcanoes National Park. On the same trip, you will explore the twin lakes; Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo, and then trek gorillas and golden monkeys in their natural habitats.

You will enjoy a cultural experience and appreciate their traditional and cultural values. The tour concludes with a visit to a local market, where you will have a chance to explore the local products. You can even do some shopping for some souvenirs. Day 1: Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

On your arrival, our driver guide will welcome you, brief you about the trip, and then proceed to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center. You will learn more about its history what happened in the 1994 genocide and how the Tutsi tribe were victims. This memorial also educates about how the genocide against the Tutsi took shape and examines genocide in the 20th century. Spending time here is very emotional, so brace yourself with tissue for you will shed some tears. After the memorial Centre visit, we will transfer to Volcanoes National Park, and on your arrival, you will check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight. Accommodation: Ingagi Park View Lodge

Day 2: Ultimate Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes and Cultural Encounter

Enjoy your early breakfast and, then your driver guide will transfer you to the headquarters of Volcanoes National Park for a briefing at about 7:00 am. Here, you will be divided into groups, and be allocated a gorilla family you will be visiting with a ranger guide who will accompany you into the jungle. You will walk for approximately 1-2 hours before you meet these gentle giant primates.

When you find the gorillas, you will have 1 hour to watch them play, feed, groom, and go about their daily life as you film or take photographs. This experience has been referred to as an experience Then, you head back to the starting point to meet your driver guide, who will transfer you back to your lodge for relaxation and lunch. In the evening, you will have a cultural dance experience hosted by the former gorilla poachers. You will enter an environment where a king reigned and watch an authentic traditional medicine man showcase out his concoctions. You will also see the ancient local milling stone and observe traditional marriage rituals under a king’s reign. You will then return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking and visit to the twin Lakes then return to Kigali

On your last day of your 3 Days Gorilla and Golden Monkey trekking Safari in Rwanda with Gorilla Page Safaris, you will drive to the park’s headquarters for a briefing on the do’s and don’ts while tracking golden monkeys. You will be assigned a ranger guide who will lead you on your expedition to find the golden monkeys. From here, you will return to Kigali and, en route, see the beautiful twin lakes, Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo. The scenes are picturesque, and you will be able to take photos or videos as you enjoy the beauty of the Country of a thousand hills. You will then embark on your journey to the city, which includes a stop at a local market. The market is the perfect place to see how the local Rwandan people do their daily business and you will be welcome to buy some souvenirs as a support to the community.
