Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe and Transfer to your Hotel

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your People Link Safaris guide and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to relax, recover from your international flight, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Entebbe. Depending on your arrival time, you may take a leisurely walk along Lake Victoria or simply unwind before your safari begins.

Day 2: Entebbe – Sipi Falls – Moroto

After an early breakfast, begin your journey to northeastern Uganda, travelling through beautiful countryside and fertile farmlands. En route, stop at the spectacular Sipi Falls, where you will admire the scenic waterfalls and enjoy lunch overlooking Mount Elgon’s rolling hills. Continue into the Karamoja region, arriving in Moroto in the evening for your first introduction to the rich culture of the Karamojong people.

Day 3: Karamojong Cultural Experience in Moroto

Today is dedicated to experiencing the traditions of the Karamojong. Visit a traditional Manyatta, where local guides introduce you to the unique architecture, family life, and customs of this proud pastoral community. Share a traditional meal, watch local artisans create beautiful beadwork, learn why cattle are central to Karamojong identity, and enjoy vibrant cultural dances and storytelling performed by community members.

Day 4: Lopuyo Village – Kotido – Kaabong

Travel to the famous Lopuyo Village for a deeper cultural immersion with local families. Visit nearby cattle kraals to witness the daily routines of herders and gain insight into the pastoral lifestyle that has defined Karamoja for generations. Continue through Kotido before arriving in Kaabong, where dramatic mountain scenery and traditional villages provide an authentic glimpse into everyday life in northern Karamoja.

Day 5: Ik Community Visit – Kidepo Valley National Park

This morning, journey towards Mount Morungole to visit the remarkable Ik community, one of Uganda’s smallest and most unique indigenous groups. Learn about their fascinating history, traditional way of life, and remarkable resilience while enjoying spectacular mountain scenery. Later, proceed to Kidepo Valley National Park, where breathtaking savannah landscapes and abundant wildlife welcome you to one of Africa’s finest safari destinations.

Day 6: Full-Day Safari in Kidepo Valley National Park

Spend the entire day exploring the spectacular wilderness of Kidepo Valley National Park. Morning and afternoon game drives take you through the Narus and Kidepo Valleys in search of elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, cheetahs, and a wide variety of antelope species. The park’s dramatic scenery, surrounded by rugged mountains and endless plains, offers incredible opportunities for wildlife photography and unforgettable safari experiences.

Day 7: Morning Game Drive – Transfer to Gulu

Enjoy one final morning game drive as the African wilderness comes alive with the sunrise. Afterwards, depart Kidepo and journey south through northern Uganda to Gulu, passing traditional villages and picturesque landscapes along the way. Arrive in the afternoon with time to relax at your lodge after an exciting safari adventure.

Day 8: Gulu – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Entebbe

After breakfast, continue your return journey with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where wild rhinos can be seen on foot. Join an experienced ranger for an exciting rhino tracking experience before continuing to Entebbe, where your memorable Karamoja and Kidepo Cultural Safari comes to an end.
